Why I will be reluctantly buying the next black ops map pack...

So, tommorow is the 28th of June, which is a pretty normal day for most people. Except for xbox users. More specifically, people who play black ops.
Oh yeh, its that time of the year again where many teenagers and adults alike flock to game to buy 1200 MS points (£10) , ready to waste it all on 5 computer generated images. Tbh, i dont see the point, in fact, i think that black ops and the whole call of duty series is very much similar to that of Apple. The leading FPS, with despite being better games out there (cough *Battlefield 3* cough) it still remains the most played game on xbox, the most bought, the most licked, the most masterbated over, and pretty much any big numbered statistic u can think of. Remind you of a certain big name technology company? ;)
Did you know that the population of the world has been killed over 10 times on black ops :L according the the little statistics thing at the bottom of the multiplayer.
Why do we need premiers, people queuing, little toy remote controlled trucks (representing one of the kill streaks in the game) dog tags, and other insanely stupid things over a video game!
Halos better aswell!
Dont get me wrong, i am an avid cod player, and actually quite enjoy a good game of zombies, and the occasional search and destroy/ TDM. But do we really need all this. Why is it that every boy owns cod, plays it, or at least has come into contact with it and why is it that despite the map pack going to be exaclty the same as escalation and first strike, with the multiplayer maps being the same useless crap that treyarch have been known for producing. Actually, thats a bit harsh, not all the maps are bad, and the zombie maps r quite good aswell:)
But ignoring those, it makes me wonder why kids wake up at 7am on the morning of the map pack release just to get a quick ten mins gameplay in! I mean, have u really reached that point in ur life where all ur care about is making sure uve had a walk around the new maps! Life? i thought not.

Im not like them, a crazed addictive weirdo who actually thinks that the map pack is the second coming. They believe that without it, there lives would be nothing, and would probably commit suicide.

Oh no, i will be waiting till i get home at 4:30 to download it :D

The blackberry playbook... my kind of review.../ first impressions..../moan.

This week, I got my hands on a blackberry playbook, the new 7 inch tablet made by blackberry. My first views were on how small it was, compared to my 10 inch Advent Vega, and also how surprisingly good looking it was.  It runs the Blackberry OS system, similar to that of the Torch, and is fairly easy and quite smooth to use. But blackberry have gone for a completely different approach to it, with very much encouraging multitasking in the device, as each app is always open, and there's no actual way of quitting them. Using the bezel at the top, u scroll down to go to the settings, scroll down the bezel at the bottom for the keypad, and u scroll upwards again for the homepage. This idea is both good and bad, i like the idea of the bezel coming into play, allowing quick access to apps, but the idea of my apps constantly being on in the background actually scares me a bit :L I kept thinking how much memory and battery its draining, and having need for speed moving on the homepage, made me feel a tad uncomfortable. The internet is good, and runs flash, (if you've seen the advert for it, u wuld've seen how much blackberry make this point known) but it actually is a fast and generally pleasant experience. The app store is in the early stages, so has what all big app stores once went through. Unknown crap apps with only one review, which is either good or bad. Although, bb have recently announced that the android market will soon be coming to the playbook aswell, and this means that u can ignore the rubbish of the app world and focus on the goodness of the market instead :)
Overall, first impressions are good, and that the concept is there, but it needs work. Like most blackberrys, it leaves u somewhat bemused and disgusted. Although, unlike recent blackberry's, the playbook is a lot more bemused with love then disgusted.
